Global Brigades at The University of Kansas
Global Brigades is an international non-profit that empowers communities to meet their health and economic goals through university volunteers and local teams. Global Brigades accomplishes this by implementing a Holistic Model that works to achieve sustainability within communities. Volunteers are the driving force behind the funding and execution of our Holistic Model. Through their funding and participation of 7-10 day brigades, a continual flow of volunteers build upon each other to implement programs. The programs below are currently established at The University of Kansas.
Public HealthVolunteers empower rural communities to prevent common illnesses through in-home infrastructural development, community leader training, and health education.

Human RightsVolunteers shadow a foreign lawyer as they provide pro-bono legal consulting and legal rights resources to community members in rural communities. Volunteers assist Panamanian lawyers resolve family law cases, and volunteers provide workshops on human rights topics to empower communities.
|
